The Mr. T Experience

I did an interview with Ean from Sicko about a month ago and asked him who was the most famous person he met on tour. And he said "Dr. Frank".
Oh, (laughs) I'm sure he must've met someone more famous than me! I'm not famous, I'm just a guy. But we've been on tour with Sicko before, it's fun. I like them.

Okay, so who's the most famous person you've met?
Um, probably the most famous rock guy I met -- well, not just met him, but actually jammed with him -- is Johnny Thunders. It was about a year before he died, and we were playing in New York at, not even in CBGB's, but there's a coffee shop -- we couldn't get booked in the real club, we got booked in the coffee shop above it. And he happened to be there, I couldn't believe it.
We're standing there on the stage, and in comes Johnny Thunders with Walter Lure and his pusher Phillipe. It was great. He had New York shoes and a big straw hat -- exactly what you'd imagine. And he could hardly stand up, he was stumbling around and everything. We got him to come up onstage and play, that was amazing. He died a little bit later. That was by far the most exciting rock experience I've had.
And...maybe I shouldn't even say this so I don't jinx it, but I think there's a chance I'm going to get to have dinner with Elvis Costello when I go to England in December. If that happens, that's going to be my dream come true. It probably won't happen -- you know how dreams are. But it may happen, and I'm looking forward to that.

"If that happens, that's going to be my dream come true. It probably won't happen -- you know how dreams are."

What do you think happens to us when we die?
That's a very difficult question. I think you cannot answer it because the only thing that you have experience of is...there's the world we know, and the world we can only imagine. And imagining it is very difficult, and the most brilliant people in the world have a very tough time even trying to explain their thoughts about it.
But I do believe that the world we know isn't the only world, and that the world we imagine is, that when you die...I don't really know how to describe it. But I believe in God, and I believe that I have a soul, and I believe that when I die something's gonna happen.

Looking for more MTX on the Web? There are a bunch of fan pages...unfortunately most of them have just ripped off the content from each other. But here are some good places to check out:
