48

48 cover Issue 1, summer 1999
48 is a `zine like they were meant to be done. It's made by people who love to ride, who took care in creating a quality piece of work. Too many `zines are thrown together with no sense of design or writing ability, but 48 isn't one of those. Though a little on the short side (20 pages), every page of this `zine is filled with stuff — the photos are good (not only the actual photos, but also the reproduction quality) and the writing is interesting. Issue 1 has a story on "The Spot" (Golden Gate Park in NorCal), a lengthy 2-Hip Burning Bike article, a San Jose Ramp Club contest report, and more. This is definitely one of the better riding `zines going around today — a must-have for those who like good riding `zines.
